As the poppy sways to and fro
does it know...
does it know how symbolic it is
does it know how revered it is
Every year as the poppy sways to and fro
does it know....
does it know its power to cause many to weep
does it know its power to cause many to bend a knee
Ohh precious poppy now is the time to grow and grow
so the world can settle down to honour and reflect
and enjoy your sways to and fro...
